  8. You won't have to go to the bank and get money to make change for your yard sale.
  9. You won't have to set up tables to display your items for your yard sale.
  10. You won't have to take everything down when the sale is over.
  11. You won't have to sit in potentially bad or changing weather for your yard sale.
  12. You don't have to be here to watch your items.
  13. We have music playing in each of our 17 rooms of the store.
  14. We take cash, checks, debit and credit cards. (Master Card and Visa)
  15. You drop your items off and we'll try to sell them for you.
  16. We have thousands of customers - more than a yard sale would fetch.
  17. You don't have to worry about the weather and reschedule your yard sale.
  18. We have LOTS of room with over 7,000 square feet and 17 rooms of indoor display space.
  19. We have lots of free, off-street parking.
  20. We have a great location with high visibility.
  21. We have a bathroom for our customers.
  22. Our sale is LONG - it goes from March 23 through May 25, 2019.
  23. We have a business license.
  24. You make 50% of the price YOU set if your item sells.
  25. Less work overall for you!
  26. If your items do not sell, you can retrieve them by Nov. 19, 2022 or donate them to us where we will try to sell them at our Everything's $1 sale following the 3-month seasonal sale thus you don't ever have to deal with them again.
  27. It's LOTS of fun. And you can shop too.
  28. We never give up.
Have your own yard sale
  1. Your yard sale is outdoors - unless you have a garage.  Does your yard or garage have air conditioning and heat?
  2. You have to organize everything.
  3. You have to advertise your sale.
  4. It's a lot of hard work to have a yard sale from preparing to cleaning up and potential security issues.
  5. You have to get people to help you with your yard sale.
  6. Mostly likely you won't have security cameras set up for your yard sale.
  7. You have to make and post signs.
  8. You have to go to the bank and get money to make change.
  9. You have to set up tables to display your items.
  10. You have to tear everything down when the sale is over.
  11. You have to deal with potentially bad or changing weather.
  12. You have to watch your items so they don't grow legs.
  13. You most likely will not have music playing.
  14. You will only be able to accept cash or checks.
  15. You have to be the seller, dealer and bargainer.
  16. You will likely NOT have thousands of customers come to your yard sale.
  17. You have to worry about the weather and possibly reschedule your yard sale and hope the weather will be good in the future.
  18. You may have limited display space.
  19. You may have limited parking.
  20. You may not have a great location with low visibility and accessibility.
  21. Hopefully you won't let strangers go into your home to use your bathroom!
  22. Your sale is probably only a few days long.
  23. You may have to have a permit to have a yard sale.
  24. You make 100% of the selling price but that comes with a cost of a lot of hard work and may not be worth the effort.
  25. More work overall for you.
  26. You have to box everything up, throw it away, take it to a donation establishment or store it back in your house/garage/shed.  You have to still deal with the stuff.
  27. It's a lot of work and little fun.
  28. You give up.  It's just too much work to have a yard sale and you decide to do the smart thing and sell your things at Athens Kids Mart!
